Croft House in the Lake District: perfect for getting away with family or friends.
A splendid barn conversion with beautiful gardens, Croft House is light and airy, getting the best of the sunshine. This is a house which sleeps 12 and the main focal point is the sitting room upstairs which is a great party room for groups to get together in. This room also has a dining area with a large dining table for late night eating and lengthy discussions. The gardens are superb and there is a secret garden over the little stream which is great for children to explore. Pets are welcome.
Lamplugh is an ideal starting point for getting out in the Lake District. Loweswater Lake is your nearest lake, just a few miles away. It has lovely woodland walks with a pub at one end. Ennerdale Lake is four miles to the south. Here there are lakeside walks or you can go up some of the highest mountains in the Lake District. The Ennerdale valley has been described as one of the loneliest valleys in the Lake District.
Other activities nearby include pony trekking, climbing, canoeing, fishing, go-karting and mountain biking. The nearest town is Cockermouth and has a lovely mix of pubs, restaurants, cafes, independent shops, small cinema and a Sainsbury’s. It is also home to Jennings Brewery – brewing fine Lake District ales.

NICE COMMENTS:
We've had some lovely emails from people who have stayed at Croft House. Here are a few from 2011:
"We had a great week at Croft House and were very lucky with the weather. Saturday was the only day we had to walk in rain the rest of the week it was sunshine. It was everything I wanted my 50th birthday celebration to be ... sharing time with friends, walking in the hills, eating, drinking and enjoying the dogs being around too (they also had a great time, loved the garden and the stream ... I think they were in doggy heaven!) Loved the living room and dining area and the kitchen was very well stocked." JE.
"We had a lovely time, the cottage was fab, our two dogs loved all the land. We will definitely be back next spring sometime." CB.
“Simply Superb.” IR.
RED SQUIRRELS:
When I was over at Croft House yesterday, a red squirrel was having a lovely time in the garden. It was running about for 20 minutes before it disappeared up a tree and out of sight.
